Airbnb's camera rules
Airbnb tightened its rules on cameras and devices in 2024. We plan every host setup around them, so your security never becomes the reason for a guest complaint.
Since 30 April 2024, Airbnb does not allow security cameras inside listings, whatever their location, purpose, or disclosure. We use door sensors, standard motion sensors, and smoke and leak detectors indoors instead.
Outdoor cameras are allowed if you disclose their presence and general location before guests book. They must not look into indoor spaces or private outdoor areas such as an outdoor shower or sauna.
Airbnb allows disclosed noise decibel monitors in common spaces. They measure sound levels only and do not record conversations.
