What the law requires
These come from the Occupational Safety and Health Act, 2007 and the Fire Risk Reduction Rules, 2007. Contravening the Rules is an offence.
Every occupier must provide and maintain fire detection appliances, placed to raise the alarm immediately and connected to audible and visual warning devices (Rule 28). The package covers this with detectors, a call point, and a siren with strobe.
Fire detection appliances must be regularly maintained and inspected at least once every twelve months by a competent person (Rule 28). Your commissioning record and device list give the inspector a starting point.
Every occupier must have a fire safety audit carried out at least once every twelve months by an approved fire safety auditor, pay for it, and keep the report (Rule 36). The audit is independent; our role is to make sure your detection and alarm system is ready for it.
Means of escape must be kept free from obstruction, and evacuation procedures must be tested at regular intervals (OSHA 2007, sections 81 and 82). Automatic door release keeps locked exits from blocking the route.
Any fire at a workplace must be reported to the nearest occupational safety and health area office within 24 hours, followed by a written report within seven days (Rule 35). The hub's event log shows what triggered and when.

Technical proof
We install the Ajax EN54 fire system: certified to the European fire detection standard and built for buildings where power and internet are not guaranteed.
The hub is certified to EN 54-2, 4, 21, and 25, covering control and indicating equipment, power supply, alarm transmission, and wireless links. Across the system, the certification also covers sounders, heat and smoke detectors, manual call points, input and output modules, and visual alarm devices.
Each detector uses blue and infrared light to tell real smoke apart from steam and vapour, has a dust-protected smoke chamber, and carries two thermistors for heat detection.
The hub connects over Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and two SIM cards on 4G, and runs for up to 24 hours on its backup battery during a power cut.
One hub supports up to 200 devices, with a radio range of up to 1,800 metres in open space and range extenders for larger buildings. Adding a detector later does not mean new cabling.
