Office security fails where nobody can say who did what.

These are the five problems office managers bring to us most. Each one has a specific fix, and a survey shows which your workplace needs.

Keys and codes that never get returned

A former employee still has a key, and the door code has been shared for years.

Cards, codes, or fingerprints for each person, cancelled in the software the day someone leaves, with every door recording who opened it.

Usually fits: Office Shield

Visitors wandering through the building

In a shared building, anyone who gets past reception can reach any floor.

Visitor passes that open only the doors and lift floors you assign, and cameras covering reception and entrances.

Usually fits: Access Control with visitor passes

An office left unarmed overnight

The last person forgot to set the alarm, and the office sat open all night.

The system arms itself when the last person badges out, and sensitive rooms can stay armed while the rest of the office is open.

Usually fits: Office Shield

Exit doors that could trap staff in a fire

Magnetic locks keep intruders out, and could also keep staff in during an evacuation.

Fire detection that sounds every siren and strobe, alerts your phone, and releases the escape-route doors automatically.

Usually fits: Fire Alarm Systems

A threatening visitor at reception

The receptionist is alone at the front desk when a situation turns aggressive.

A discreet panic button at reception, and with PRO Monitoring the alert reaches our team and our response partner at once.

Usually fits: any system with PRO Monitoring

From the first badge-in to the office locking itself at night.

One system handles doors, visitors, alarms, and emergencies, so nobody has to remember a routine.

01

Staff badge in

Each person opens the doors they are allowed to use, and every entry is recorded with a name and time.

02

Visitors get limited passes

Reception issues a pass that opens only the doors and floors the visitor needs, for the length of the visit.

03

Sensitive rooms stay protected

The server room, finance office, or records room can stay armed and restricted while the rest of the office works.

04

The office arms itself at night

When the last person badges out, the alarm sets automatically, and any break-in after hours reaches your phone.

05

You can check it all from your phone

Door activity, alarm events, and camera footage are available to management from a phone or desktop.

Start with Office Shield, then add what your building needs.

Office Shield covers doors, alarms, and cameras for a typical office. Fire detection and larger camera systems are priced separately, so you only pay for what you use.

Monthly costs, explained

Office Shield needs Urban Eye Connect Pro to stay online. It keeps the system connected, covers maintenance and remote support, and includes managing access users and priority support.

  • Urban Eye Connect ProFrom KES 5,000/month for Office Shield.
  • PRO Monitoring (optional)From KES 8,050/month. Alerts are checked 24/7, first responders attend, and serious incidents escalate to armed response.

Shared buildings with many tenants, lift control, or several floors are designed and quoted after a free survey. See Access Control →

Different buildings need different controls.

The survey plans access, alarms, and cameras around how people actually move through your building.

Single-Tenant Offices

Staff access on main and internal doors, zoned alarms for server and finance rooms, and cameras at reception and entrances.

Shared and Multi-Tenant Buildings

Separate access for each tenant, shared ground-floor entry, visitor passes limited to the right floor, and lift floor control on Suprema systems.

Clinics and Healthcare Offices

Restricted access to pharmacy stores and records rooms, a panic button at reception, and fire detection for patient areas.

Staff Biometrics, Set Up Properly

Fingerprint and face entry are sensitive personal data under Kenya's Data Protection Act. We set them up with staff consent and a card option for anyone who declines. See Access Control →

A good fit, or better served by something else.

We would rather point you to the right option than sell you more system than your office needs.

Office Shield is a good fit if

  • Keys and codes change hands between staff, cleaners, and contractors.
  • You have rooms only some people should enter.
  • The office is empty at night and someone has to remember to lock up.
  • You want door, alarm, and camera records in one place.

You are better served elsewhere if

How much does office security cost?

Office Shield is quoted after a free site survey, plus Urban Eye Connect Pro from KES 5,000/month. The final price depends on how many doors need access control, the number of alarm zones and cameras, and whether you add fire detection or monitoring. A free site survey confirms it before you receive a written quotation.

What happens when an employee leaves?

You cancel their card, code, or fingerprint in the software, and it stops working at every door straight away. There are no keys to collect and no locks to change.

Can part of the office stay armed while staff are working?

Yes. The alarm is split into zones, so the server room, finance office, or records room can stay armed while the open office is in use.

Can visitors be limited to certain floors in a shared building?

Yes. On Suprema systems, reception issues a card or QR code pass that opens only the doors and lift floors assigned to the visitor, for the period of the visit.

Is it legal to use fingerprints or face recognition for staff access?

It can be, if it is set up properly. Kenya's Data Protection Act treats biometric data as sensitive personal data, so plan for staff consent, a data protection impact assessment, and a card option for anyone who declines. This is a summary, not legal advice.

What happens to the doors in a fire?

Escape-route doors use fail-safe locks, and a fire alarm signal can release them so staff can leave without a card or code. The Essential Commercial Fire Package, from KES 285,000, includes an automation module for door release and HVAC shutdown.

Do we need 24/7 monitoring?

It is optional. With PRO Monitoring, from KES 8,050/month, after-hours alarms and panic alerts reach our team and our response partner at the same moment, first responders attend, and serious incidents are escalated to armed response.
