See Who Came In, What They Took, and When, Even at Night.

Urban Eye installs TP-Link VIGI camera systems for homes, shops, offices, and warehouses in Kenya. Cameras record in full colour after dark, footage stays on a recorder on your property, and you can watch live or play back from your phone.

Most CCTV problems start before anything is stolen.

These are the five camera problems we are asked to fix most. If yours is here, a free survey will show which system solves it.

Grey, blurry footage from last night

The camera caught something, but you cannot tell who it was.

Full-colour cameras with built-in lights record colour detail after dark, up to 30 metres away.

Usually fits: 4-Camera or 8-Camera System

A loss you noticed too late

Stock goes missing, and by the time you check, the recording has been overwritten.

A properly sized drive keeps around 30 days of footage on site, so you can go back when a loss surfaces at stock-take.

Usually fits: 8-Camera System

Alerts every time a cat walks past

Motion alerts fire so often that everyone has stopped looking at them.

Cameras that tell people and vehicles apart from everything else send the alerts that actually matter.

Usually fits: any wired system

A rented home you cannot drill

Your lease rules out drilling or running cables through the walls.

Wireless cameras, including a solar-powered outdoor camera, with live view from your phone and no wall drilling.

Usually fits: Wireless Camera Kit

An old system that barely works

Half the cameras are dead, and nobody can find the footage when it is needed.

We check what can be reused before recommending anything new, and fix the weakest points first.

Usually fits: recommended after a free survey

What your cameras do, day and night.

Every system follows the same sequence, whether it has four cameras or thirty-two.

01

Cameras watch the places that matter

Placement is planned during the survey around gates, doors, tills, stockrooms, and parking, not wherever a cable happens to reach.

02

Footage records on your property

A recorder with a hard drive stores everything on site, so there is no monthly fee for recording.

03

Smart alerts reach your phone

Cameras that recognise people and vehicles send an alert when someone is where they should not be.

04

You watch live or play back anywhere

Open the app to see what is happening now, or scroll back to find the moment something went wrong.

05

You keep the clip

Save the recording of an incident to share with the police, your insurer, or your own team.

Three starting kits, priced for the equipment.

Each price covers the cameras, recording, and cabling materials. Installation is quoted after the free survey, so your written quotation shows the full cost before anything is installed.

Larger sites and special requirements

Bigger properties and specialist needs are designed and quoted after a free survey, because camera count, distance, and power change the whole design.

  • 16-camera AI systemsOffices, campuses, and apartment blocks, with cameras that flash and sound a siren when someone crosses a line.
  • 32-camera 4K systemsFactories, logistics centres, and large storage yards.
  • Off-grid 4G and solar systemsFarms, construction sites, and remote yards with no mains power or fibre.
  • Plate reading and advanced analyticsNumber plate recognition at gates and site-wide video analytics on TRASSIR.

Network add-ons are sold separately from every kit: backup internet that keeps cameras reachable when the fibre drops, from KES 8,700.

Cameras record people, so we set them up with care.

When a business records customers or staff, Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019 applies. These three habits keep your system useful and fair.

Cover your property, not your neighbours

Cameras should watch your gates, doors, and premises, not neighbouring homes, and never private spaces such as bathrooms or changing rooms.

Tell people they are being recorded

Put clear signs at entrances, and tell staff where cameras are and why they are there.

Keep footage only as long as you need it

Recordings overwrite automatically on a set cycle, and only the people who need footage should be able to open it.

The technology behind the footage.

Our starting kits use TP-Link VIGI cameras and recorders, with TP-Link Tapo for the wireless kit and TRASSIR for advanced analytics on larger sites.

Full Colour After Dark

VIGI full-colour cameras combine a high-sensitivity sensor with built-in supplemental lights to record colour detail at night, up to 30 metres away.

People and Vehicle Detection

Cameras classify people and vehicles, so alerts come from the things you care about rather than every moving shadow.

More Footage on the Same Drive

H.265+ compression stores clear video in less space, which is how a 2TB or 4TB drive holds weeks of recording.

One Cable per Camera

Power over Ethernet runs power and video to each camera over a single cable from the recorder, so there is no separate power supply at every camera.

Works With Your Ajax Alarm

Cameras can be added to an Ajax alarm system so you see live video in the same app as your alarm. Where monitoring operators need camera images with an alarm, we set that up during the survey.

A good fit, or better served by something else.

Cameras show you what happened. Sometimes you need something that stops it happening first.

CCTV is a good fit if

  • You need to know who came and went, and when.
  • You want evidence when stock, cash, or property goes missing.
  • You want to check on your home or business from your phone.
  • Your old cameras record grey, blurry footage at night.

You are better served elsewhere if

What is included in the kit price?

The kit price covers the cameras, recorder, hard drive or memory cards, and cabling materials. Installation labour, conduit and trunking, and any network add-ons are quoted after the free site survey, so your written quotation shows the full cost before anything is installed.

How much footage will I have?

A 4-camera system with a 2TB drive, or an 8-camera system with a 4TB drive, typically keeps around 30 days of continuous recording using H.265+ compression. The exact figure depends on camera settings and how busy the scene is, and recording only when there is motion extends it.

Can I watch the cameras on my phone?

Yes. Wired systems use the free TP-Link VIGI app for live view and playback, and the wireless kit uses the TP-Link Tapo app.

Is there a monthly fee?

Not for recording. Footage is stored on a drive or memory cards on your property. Optional extras, such as 24/7 PRO Monitoring, have their own monthly fees.

Can Urban Eye work with my existing cameras or DVR?

Often, yes. We check which cabling, mounting points, and cameras are still usable before recommending anything new, and replace the weakest points first rather than starting from zero.

How long does installation take?

Most home and small business installations are completed within 1 to 3 days after the site survey and quotation are approved. Larger sites are scheduled in phases.

Do I need 24/7 monitoring with my cameras?

No. Cameras work as a standalone recording and alert system. PRO Monitoring, from KES 8,050/month, adds operators who verify alerts and coordinate the response, instead of footage you only review after the fact.
